Some years ago I had a (very young) friend with whom I shared a common interest in tabletop, fantasy war game Warhammer 40,000. To be truthful, it’s a game I’ve merely flirted lightly with a few times, but the young friend in question was an committed enthusiast, loved building and customising models, suggested I create an original painting and submit the artwork to Games Workshop (who, having long since divested themselves of any games other than their own, eventually rebranded themselves more honestly as Warhammer) to see if they’d like to commission me.

So I did. But they didn’t.

These are a pair of Chaos Terminators and a soon-to-be-deceased Space Wolves Marine. The Chaos characters appealed to my macabre side.
